Prices for 2011
We know that the whole world is in a recession; we agree that prices are
outrageous, and that something should be done.  At HolliBerri Icelandics, we
believe that the best way to fight an economic decline is to create new, viable
businesses. The good news for shepherds is that the market price for lamb,
wool, and sheep milk keeps going up, making a flock of sheep one of the more
profitable agricultural ventures to engage in.
Given current prices combined with a solid direct marketing program, each
ewe can easily make back her purchase price within the first two years.  This
does not include sales of breeding stock, or take into account the intrinsic value
of building a lifestyle to include Icelandics.  This last "plus" is priceless.

A $100.00 deposit per animal will hold the sheep of your choice.  This deposit
is
non-refundable unless the animal becomes unavailable.  In this
circumstance, a refund will be issued, or you may choose another sheep.  Each
animal is priced individually, keeping within the guidelines below.
Financing Now Available!!!
In a continuing effort to reduce the impact of the current
slow economy, we offer financing to our customers.  We
require half of the purchase price down at or before pickup,
and will take payments for the balance at 5% interest for 6
months - rate increases to 8% thereafter.  Pedigree and
transfer will be mailed as soon as the last payment is
received (
Papers are needed to register lambs).  Sheep kept on the
farm into "hay season" will incur an additional maintenance
fee of  $.75 per day.

We also offer custom breeding to the ram of your choice -
breeding season starts in November, so the maintenance fee
will apply.  Rams available will be posted in September.
Breeding fee to a mature ewe is $100; to a One-Winter ewe
is $50.  Ewes will be ready for pick-up the first week of
January.
Weanling ewes - horned               $400 to $450
Weanling ewes - colored/polled     $350 to $400
Weanling rams - horned               $400
Weanling rams - polled                $350

We will only be offering the cream of the ram lamb crop this year,
as there are so many F1 offspring now available.
If you want Lasi or Ormur bloodlines for milk production,
this is a great place to look.
If you are principally interested in a "freezer lamb" flock, choose a ram by either
King Boris or Ilex Ra for great muscling and long backs.
If you want great fleece lines, look to Kobus' pedigree with Noi, Aboti, and Kari.

F1 rams are wonderful, and we need the infusion of new bloodlines, but
not all Iceland genetics adapt to North America.  We offer the tried and true
at HolliBerri Icelandics - (
unintentional) natural selection at her finest!
