Lambing Season 2006
Okay, so I know these aren't sheep, but they're the first critters born on
our farm this year, so they get a spot!
3/25/2006 born to Pygora doe Mim, and Pygora buck
Mario, a lovely set of twins, one caramel doeling
(Fontana?) and one "white" buckling (VanGoat?), newest
additions to The Faun's Palette herd.
VanGogh:

Fontana:

Sheep!!!
4/4/2006 born to Caraway (HAM3N) and Ilex (LF111R), a
lovely set of twins: A black/grey ram lamb weighing in
at 7 pounds, and a black/grey ewe lamb weighing in at
8 pounds.  Both lambs are friendly and curious, with
beautiful faces and nice straight conformation.  Ram
lamb has huge horn buds, ewe lamb is horned, too.
Mom is doing great!
Two days ;old, and still
can't get a good photo!!!
So I'm not very good at determining the color
of these newborn lambs...both of these babies
are turning a lovely chocolate brown - must
mean they're moorit/grey, huh?
Four days old, and braving the
new world - ram lamb now
weighs 10 lbs., ewe lamb
weighs 12 lbs.  VERY active!!!
4/10/2006  born to Aspen (TCE217R) and a
Neptuneson
(SRX550R) a ten pound 12 ounce
polled ram lamb.  What the heck?  This baby
is obviously a black badgerface, but what are
those moorit spots doing on his back and
sides?  Horns or not, the uniqueness of this
"little" fellow makes him a HolliBerri keeper.
This lamb is a grey badgerface
with scurs - glad we got that
settled!!!
4/10/2006 born to Summersweet (RUM01R) and Ilex
(LF111R) a single moorit ewe lamb weighing in at 7
pounds.  This baby is horned, with really long legs and
beautiful curly fleece.  We look forward to watching her
grow!
Update:  we will not be selling this lamb, as she
has the softest fleece we've ever felt.  With Old Mori in
her pedigree so many times, it's no wonder.  Look for
her lambs in 2007 - consider reserving her lamb fleece -
it will be awesome!
4/15/2006 born to Mountain Heather (DCI32R) and
Pyrus
(LF116R); twin ebony ram lambs unassisted as a
one-winter ewe.  Big Guy weighed in at 7.75 pounds -
Little Guy weighed in at 5.5 pounds.  Laurel is an
excellent mom!!! It's easy to see why Leadersheep
are so valued!  Boys could be non-fading black.
