Daughter by Hawthorn
HBI 115U Frosted Hawthorn (4/14/08)
White horned single
Lambing record: 0, 1, 1,
Sire: Hawthorn (LF 252T) - grandson of Sjodur; carried bloodlines from Horvi,
Mjalder, Thettir, Hunn, Solee, Blessa, Saddleback,
and Old Mori X 5
Dam: Wintergreen (LF 206S) - granddaughter of Peli; bloodlines from Hunn,
Mjalder, Thettier, Haengur, Dropi, Flotti, Golsa,
Saddleback, Solee X 2, and Old Mori X 3
Frosti had the biggest forehead I've ever seen in a ewe lamb, and its possible that she carries the
gene for multiple horns...we'll never know, as I have no intention of trying for such an animal. It
was hard enough getting her born! She is one of the friendliest of our girls, and will be an asset
in the parlor.

HBI 319X Mahonia 2 (4/14/10)
Black horned twin
Lambing record: 0, 1
Sire: Corkspur (HBI 105U) - carried bloodlines from Sjodur, Hunn, Horvi, Haengur,
Mjalder, Thettir, Bambi, Garpur, Blessa, Solee, Saddleback,
Gray Pet, and Old Mori X 7
Dam: Candytuft (TCE 325T) - carried bloodlines from Grimur, Eldar, Tuli, Ljomi, Heli,
Laekur, Garpur X 2, Thettir, Saddleback, and Old Mori
We feel fortunate that this little gal was born at all. Candytuft began dropping weight about three
weeks before she delivered, and we were unable to determine the cause. We feared that she
would lose her pregnancy - based on their appearance and weight at birth, I think Candy
delivered her twins a bit prematurely due to stress, however all's well that ends well! Mahonia
made it through the hot summer to become a valued addition to our flock. She combines both
meat and milk genetics, and should produce outstanding dairy offspring. Mahonia had a solid
moorit ewe lamb by Trumpkin this year.
HBI 326X Jute (4/16/10)
Moorit horned twin
Lambing record: 0,
Sire: Corkspur (HBI 105U) - carried bloodlines from Sjodur, Hunn, Horvi, Haengur,
Mjalder, Thettir, Bambi, Garpur, Blessa, Solee, Saddleback,
Gray Pet, and Old Mori X 7
Dam: Flax (HBI 69T) - carried bloodlines from Flotti, Noi, Heli, Skumur, Bambi, Blesi,
Golsa, Saddleback , Finull X 2, and Old Mori x 8
Another miracle lamb, this baby was born after Flax prolapsed and had to be sutured. I feel so
fortunate to have been there when Flax went into labor, and am thrilled to have a daughter to
keep.
HBI 383X Mountain Laurel (4/25/10)
Moorit/grey horned twin
Lambing record: 0,
Sire: Corkspur (HBI 105U) - carried bloodlines from Sjodur, Hunn, Horvi, Haengur,
Mjalder, Thettir, Bambi, Garpur, Blessa, Solee, Saddleback,
Gray Pet, and Old Mori X 7
Dam: Silverbell (HBI 80T) - carries bloodlines from Ljori, Flotti, Horvi, Blessa, Golsa,
Saddleback, Solee, and Old Mori x 8
For some reason, I had this gal entered as a black/grey in my lambing records, and didn't realize
my mistake until August. Laurel's moorit overcoat was extremely dark, but I should have realized
that Silverbell would throw moorit/grey since Firethorn was one. Laurel takes after her grandpa
in more than color - she is a very large, muscular girl, and should give us years of great lambs for
our meat market.
