More Old World
LF 146R  Willow (5/16/2005)
Black/grey mouflon horned twin
Lambing record: 0, 1, 1, 1, 1
Sire:  LF29P - Flotti grandson; Old Mori, Finull,
                   and Golsa genetics
Dam:  Claudia (BLW101K) - Serkur daughter
One should never have "favorites", but EVERYBODY loves Willow!  She used to look just like a
gazelle, but now she looks more like a rhino, and has taught quite a few of her flockmates to cast
themselves to the ground whenever a person grabs them.  Way to go, Willow - thanks a lot!  She has
a broad, meaty frame like her grandpa Serkur, and a thick fleece with loads of thel. Another single
lamb for 2010 by Jester this time - fertility is just not there!  May have something to do with the
Flotti part of her pedigree - very low prolificacy score for Flotti offspring according to Southram.
Willow will be in Blackjack's breeding group for 2011.
LF 113R Noelle (4/3/2005)
White horned twin
Lambing record: 1, 2, 2, 0, 2
Sire - Noi (AI)
Dam: Athena (SRX360J) - AI Molidottir
This dainty ewe is a lovely blending of the meat conformation of her mother, Athena, and the
more delicate fleece conformation from Noi.  She has her Daddy's fleece for sure!  She has very
good horns and
is more parasite-resistant than her mother.  She gave us a wonderful daughter
out of Tatarian in 2008 - like Sugarmaple, she appears to be homozygous white, as all her lambs
are white.  Noelle was open for some reason in 2009 - darn the luck. She will be in King's
breeding group for 2001.

HAM05P  Caraway (4/1/2004)
Moorit/grey horned single
Lambing record: 1, 2, 2, 2, 0, 2
Sire:  LF6M - Lavender Fleece spotted ram; Old Mori x 4 plus Saddleback
Dam:  Hyssop (BLW039F) - Jager ewe
Caraway is the last of the "Fab Four", and the last of the New World Girls on our farm. This full
sister to Bruschetta has wonderful thick fleece that has a unique "pink" tint to it in the sun.  The
tog and thel are easy to separate, and both spin wonderfully.  Caraway has a good solid
conformation, much better than her sister did.  With perfectly shaped horns and a chiseled
profile, this gal is among the best the New World has to offer.  Caraway was open in 2009,
probably due to Ilex's back injury. Caraway will be in Kobus' breeding group for 2011.
LF 101R Maureen (3/30/2005)
Black horned single
Lambing record: 0, 1, 1, 2, 1
Sire - Molur (AI)
Dam: Haera (TCE 126N) - Hunn granddaughter
Maureen is an extremely large, masculine ewe - our shearer even wondered if she was able to
conceive given the imbalance of hormones that she may have.  She may not have the sterling
lambing record of some, but she is still capable of being a mother; her problem is that the lambs
grow too large and suffer birthing trauma.  Since our feeding system is portion-controlled, we
hope that maybe this year Maureen can deliver a normal-sized lamb - two would be great!  Keep
your fingers crossed; Maureen will be in Jester's breeding group, which would unit two great milk
lines!
